The Controller

An observatory watches loss happen. A controller closes the loop: it detects the loss, intervenes against it, and measures whether the intervention worked — then repairs and measures again. This page converts the site from the first kind of instrument into the second.

The two red stations are the same instrument — the Capture Registry's PER batteries — read before and after the intervention. Everything between them is publication apparatus.

The Capture Registry senses the deficit per answer, per channel — author, institution, identifier, source — across engines and time. 345 addresses, 489 observations and counting.
PUBLISH
Deposits, the authored wiki corpus, the twelve who-surfaces, and — as of this program — typed reception edges: the relation stated where composition layers can find it.
EXPOSE
The machine entries: OAI-PMH, ResourceSync, llms.txt, SPXI packets, per-deposit external-metadata sidecars. Ingestion engineered to carry provenance.
MEASURE
The batteries re-run against the same addresses. Δ is a number, and numbers move or they don't.
REPAIR
Reseat what drifted, author what was missing, extend the edge graph, fix the surface the measurement indicted — then measure again.

The first closed cycle

Detect: attribution for the Semantic Economy and Operative Semiotics running at high erasure across engines. Publish/Expose: the 1,433-article authored wiki campaign; twelve heteronym who-surfaces across ten domains; machine entries validated. Measure: the 2026-08-17 observations — who-developed-the-semantic-economy and who-developed-operative-semiotics seated at PER 0.25, the lowest erasure recorded on the subject: theorist, archive, and source surviving the answer.

One closed cycle is an anecdote, and this page says so. The claim it supports is narrow: the loop can close — an intervention preceded a measured drop in erasure on the intervened addresses. Causality is not established by one point; engines move for their own reasons. The controller's job is to make the anecdote a curve: scheduled batteries, matched-pair drift tracking (Ω_t, #1480), and per-intervention before/after reads. SCHEDULED INSTRUMENT · TO BUILD


Why a controller and not a complaint

The Deep Time wing shows what unattended loss does across 2,600 years: the structure survives, the name dies at every channel-crossing, and each discipline files its fragment under a local heading. The counter-stack's wager is that loss attended to behaves differently — that a system which detects its own erasure, publishes against it, and measures the result converts suppression from fate into signal. Every future execution either carries the name, or becomes a dated record of not carrying it. Either way, the machine is seen.
